First government specification for lightweight steel systems.

We pioneered the introduction of the lightweight steel structure system to Turkey, and it gained national attention following the 2020 major earthquake. After a meeting between TOKİ and representatives of prefabricated and lightweight steel buildings, a steel building specification was formulated. Our extensive experience in the sector played a crucial role in this development. Steel village houses have commenced construction in various provinces across Turkey. In this context, we have utilized the lightweight steel construction system to build mass village houses in different regions of Turkey. The assembly of each of the 87 lightweight steel houses, simultaneously assembled in four different regions of Manisa city, was completed within a short six-month period. These single-storey houses, each measuring 90 m², were the result of the dedicated work of a 50-person assembly team.

In the same timeframe, we successfully completed the assembly of 68 single-storey houses, each measuring 90 m², in various regions of Afyon city.

In the project constructed in two different locations in Artvin city, a total of 246 steel houses, including 3+1/130 m² and 2+1/90 m² configurations, were completed and ready for occupancy within 10 months. This achievement was made possible through the coordination of a 150-person assembly team. The "TOKİ Village Houses" project marks a significant milestone in the widespread acceptance and use of the lightweight steel system in Türkiye.

CYPRUS

We built a hospital in a month with a mixed system.

We served as a solution partner for the main contractor company in the construction of the Emergency Hospital in Cyprus, responding to the urgent need for construction during the pandemic period. We combined the advantages of lightweight steel and structural steel, employing them together in a mixed system.

We managed the entire project with precision, delivering the emergency hospital, covering 13,500 m², within one month. A coordinated effort involving a 150-person assembly team ensured successful project completion from our technical office to the field. In the project, where we used special building materials according to the climate of the region, we produced the A1 class fireproof fiber cement exterior cladding of the project with Ekobord, one of the brands within our group, lightweight steel profiles with Profacto and composite panels with the Neopan brand, and made all components of the project with our integrated production approach.

Furthermore, the hospital's roof was equipped with a standing seam roof system, utilizing a composite panel designed and patented by Vefa. This innovation provided an A1 fireproof surface without creating a thermal bridge. The Emergency Hospital, a crucial addition to the health sector in Cyprus, commenced operations during the pandemic period. It features 100 beds, six operating rooms, and 24 intensive care units.

IVORY COAST
2017

We built an Olympic camp for 4,000 people in Ivory Coast.

To cater to the accommodation needs of 4,000 athletes during the 8th Francophone Games in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, a dedicated living space was required. In collaboration with Snedai and Getran, we constructed the Olympic Village, spanning 54,000 square meters and comprising 33 three-storey buildings, for the 8th Francophone Games in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. All the buildings were constructed using a prefabricated panel system.

After a 25-day project planning period, we initiated the first shipments. For both interior and exterior walls, we utilized Neopan rock wool sandwich panels—a design of our own—and these panels hold an A1 non-flammability certification by Warrington. For the building facades, we opted for a vibrant palette with five different colors: red, blue, yellow, gray, and white.

Given the scale of the event, the project and our worksite were closely monitored by the political leaders of the country. Our ambassador has also closely monitored the developments. With the expertise of Vekon, we successfully completed such a complex project in a remarkably short time, spanning six months.

We built the first four-storey container.

In a construction project managed by DAP Yapı, the limited space did not allow for a horizontal layout in terms of worksite mobilization. To accommodate more staff, we opted to develop a solution conducive to vertical settlement. Subsequently, we embarked on a project to create four-storey containers, the first of its kind in Turkey.

Utilizing 104 modular containers, we accomplished both the architectural layout and static calculations for the four-storey project within a span of two weeks. Operating with speed in both time and production, we completed the assembly within one month. By incorporating cross frames on the outer walls during the construction installation, we ensured the stability of the assembly as well as the enduring stability of the buildings.

MALAYSIA
2016

We set up an on-site assembly line.

For a large scale project to be carried out by Petronas in Malaysia, the objective was to provide housing for 2,500 engineers in what would become Asia's largest executive housing complex. For the project, we required a design capable of producing 1,800 modular buildings within a six-month timeframe.

We sought a cost-effective modular production method that could be rapidly manufactured, shipped by sea, lifted from the base, and assembled by local workers. The dimensions of the modular living units, as determined for production within the project's scope, were not conducive to being entirely manufactured in Turkey and shipped to Malaysia per international logistics regulations.

Therefore, we decided to pioneer a new approach by establishing an assembly facility directly at the project site. Through the semi-assembly line established on-site, we converted the products sent from Turkey as semi-finished goods into fully assembled products at the location. In this extensive project, involving the construction of 1,800 modular living units and 40,000 m² of lightweight steel buildings, totaling 80,000 square meters, we undertook a comprehensive redesign of all processes—from product development to assembly—considering the specific needs of Petronas and the site conditions.

Adopting an integrated project management approach, we independently managed all processes, including design, production, and assembly. The establishment of a semi-assembly line on-site provided a cost advantage, enabling us to complete the project in approximately five months—significantly ahead of the contracted period. The project, marking our initial export to the Far East, involved the unique design of all details, incorporating a combination of different container, prefabricated, and steel construction systems.

We Completed the University Campus in 2.5 Months.

We constructed the Medipol University Kavacık North Campus using a combination of lightweight and structural steel. It was crucial to meet the university's academic schedule, and the timeframe was extremely limited. The buildings, which included auditoriums, dormitories, and dining halls, required large spans and high ceilings. Considering all these factors, we opted for a hybrid system, combining structural and lightweight steel, as the most suitable construction method.

Covering an area of 12,000 square meters, we transformed the university buildings into ready-to-use facilities in a short period of 2.5 months. The main design concept of the two four-storey blocks was based on the structural steel shear wall system, with all seismic and wind loads supported by steel cross-braced shear walls. Trapezoidal profiled galvanized sheets were laid on the floor of each level, and concrete was poured with steel reinforcement to create the floor structure. For wide spans, columns and beams were ingeniously concealed, creating an aesthetically pleasing interior. Moreover, due to the quick completion, it provided an economical solution, minimizing labor and material costs.

PERU
2013

We delivered supplies to the field with the help of a helicopter.

For the hydroelectric power plant project undertaken by Astaldi in Huanza, Peru, the construction of 24,553 square meters of prefabricated worker dormitories was planned. The worksite was situated in a mountainous and hilly region. The absence of roads posed a challenge for transporting the produced materials to the construction site.

We utilized helicopters to deliver the panels and other components directly to the construction site. This method made our work very easy and accelerated the process. With an 18-person assembly team, we completed the worksite in four months.

VENEZUELA
2013

We went up to four floors in lightweight steel housing.

In the mass housing project undertaken in collaboration with Summa in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, one of the South American countries, the project's specifications included four-storey lightweight steel buildings.

The entire system was meticulously designed by our expert engineering team, adhering to the standards set for a four-storey steel building. The static calculations considered every stage in intricate detail, encompassing production, assembly, and material loading. The project comprised a total of 102 four-storey public housing buildings and four school buildings. Featuring a total of 1,600 housing units with 2+1 and 3+1 apartment types, the project constituted the second and third phases of the urban transformation plan.

The project, spanning a total of 120 thousand square meters, was successfully delivered within a short timeframe of eight months. We take pride in successfully completing a project that demanded special expertise, marking our inaugural project in South America.
